The SAE EG-1 Aerospace Propulsion System Support Equipment committee is seeking volunteers to contribute to the work of the technical committee, vote on all technical report ballots in a timely manner and maintain active participation on the respective technical committee.

The SAE EG-1 Aerospace Propulsion System Support Equipment committee addresses all facets of aerospace propulsion support equipment-design, maintenance, and in-service experience. It focuses on support equipment and facilities related to gas turbine engine testing, balancing, engine accessory testing, inspection, packaging, handling, and transportability. hand tools for aerospace applications are also addressed by EG-1.

The group is comprised of three committees dedicated to creating, preparing, and maintaining all relevant specifications, standards, and requirements for aerospace propulsion system support equipment. These committees include:

EG-1A           Balancing
EG-1B           Hand Tools
EG-1B1         Power Tools – Productivity, Ergonomics and Safety
EG-1E           Test Cells

Participants in the SAE EG-1 committee include OEMs, suppliers, processors, consulting firms, government, and others across the aerospace and defense industries.

The purpose of the Committee EG-1A is to act behalf of Steering Group EG-1 in all activities extended to the field of Aerospace Propulsion Systems Balancing.

Work Conducted via: E-mail, teleconference, face-to-face meeting, Webex.

Benefits of Participation: Volunteers have the opportunity to help develop globally used standards of interest to the member and the opportunity to meet with peers to discuss technical issues of mutual interest.

Leadership Skills Obtained in this Role: Volunteers will working as a team and have the opportunity to assume committee leadership positions.

Time Commitment: Commitment varies based on the particular committee meeting schedule. The member should be able to attend most face to face meetings and teleconferencing events as well as provide input into the development of standards between meetings. Member must also respond to document ballots through the year.

Qualifications

Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Experience: Expertise in the technology of the committee, understanding of the role and use of standards, good communication skills, is willing to work towards consensus agreements
