Description

The goal of the Roadside Object Surrogate Task Force is to develop standardized requirements for roadside object surrogates (such as grass surrogate, concrete divider surrogate, curb surrogate, metal guardrail surrogate, etc.). The roadside object surrogates are representative of real objects to the sensors used in object recognition for road departure detection/mitigation, and object collision avoidance systems. They can be used for the performance assessment of such in-vehicle systems (including warning, steering, and/or braking) in test track to represent real-world test scenarios/conditions.

Individuals with experience/background with testing Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and the use of surrogate objects during testing are encouraged to apply.
