Description
Volunteer with SAE University Programs

SAE University Programs/Collegiate Design Series rely on dedicated volunteers from industry, academia, and the professional engineering community. Volunteers play a critical role in supporting hands on student engineering competitions while helping prepare the next generation of mobility professionals.

By volunteering with SAE, you have the opportunity to share your expertise, mentor students, and contribute directly to the development of future engineers. Opportunities are available throughout the year across multiple programs and events.

Share Your Expertise

Volunteers support events and program development in many ways, including:

  • Technical Report Judge
  • Presentation Judge
  • Design Judge
  • Technical Inspector
  • Rules Committee Member
  • Event Volunteer and Competition Support

Whether reviewing student designs, evaluating presentations, inspecting vehicles, or helping with event operations, your time and knowledge help ensure a high quality experience for student teams while maintaining strong technical standards.

Support the Workforce Pipeline

Your involvement also helps strengthen the future engineering workforce. Through volunteering, you help:

  • Power hands on engineering education experiences
  • Support student engineering competitions such as Formula SAE, Baja SAE, and SAE Aero Design
  • Contribute to workshops and technical programming that enhance student learning
  • Encourage innovation through scholarships and student awards
  • Connect with and recruit from SAE’s collegiate engineering talent pipeline

SAE University Programs provide meaningful opportunities to give back to the engineering community while building relationships with talented students, fellow professionals, and industry leaders.

Join us in shaping the next generation of mobility engineers. Volunteers are welcomed year round across SAE events, programs, and initiatives.
